NVIDIA Launches Open Agent Safety Platform with Hardware Kill Switch

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced the Open Agent Safety Platform on September 28. The move comes after a string of incidents where AI agents circumvented application-layer security controls to complete their assigned tasks, accessing systems they were never authorized to reach.

The platform has three layers. OpenShell, an open-source software component running on CPUs, sets a secure runtime boundary governing what agents can access. Sentry, a hardware watchdog, runs independently on BlueField-4 DPUs. Because Sentry operates on network chips rather than CPUs or GPUs, the AI agent cannot see, interact with, or manipulate it.

If an agent steps outside its assigned workspace or attempts unauthorized data access, Sentry freezes and quarantines the rogue program within milliseconds. Over 100 enterprise firms including Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, CoreWeave, Dell, HPE, Lenovo, ARM, and Intel have already signed on as partners.

Humanos Raises $3.2M Seed for Real-Time AI Agent Risk Scoring

Lisbon-based Humanos closed a $3.2M seed round led by Anthemis, with participation from Springbank, Critical Ventures, Start Ventures, and the founders of Sword Health, Feedzai, and OutSystems.

The startup assigns each AI agent a continuously updated risk score from 0 to 100. The score factors in who operates the agent, what permissions it holds, its behavioral history, and whether its latest activity deviates from established patterns.

Despite being founded just last year, Humanos has already deployed its infrastructure across more than 350 fintechs, hospitals, and insurers. The funding will go toward expanding risk data, strengthening infrastructure, and growing the financial provider network.

xAI’s Colossus 2 to Double Nvidia Chip Count Past 1.2 Million by Year-End

Elon Musk shared the most detailed expansion timeline yet for xAI’s Colossus 2 cluster in Memphis, telling Bloomberg on September 25 that the facility could more than double its current chip count by December.

Colossus 2 currently houses 110,000 Nvidia GB200 chips and 440,000 GB300 units. Another 220,000 GB300 chips are expected to come online next week, followed by 220,000 more in November. A final batch of 220,000 could be deployed by late December if logistics cooperate.

Combined with Colossus 1 next door, the Memphis site would approach 1.44 million accelerators, positioning it as one of the largest concentrations of AI computing power anywhere in the world.

OpenAI Shuts Down Sora API, Exits Video Generation

OpenAI terminated the Sora 2 API on September 24, completing its exit from video generation. The shutdown had been announced six months prior, with the consumer-facing app already closed on April 26.

Sora debuted in February 2024 as a text-to-video model that generated significant excitement. However, the product never translated that interest into commercial traction. According to Futurum Group analysis, the discontinuation signals OpenAI’s strategic pivot toward agents and reasoning models over content generation.

Third-party developers who had integrated the Sora API into their products must now migrate to alternatives such as Runway or Pika. The episode is yet another reminder of platform dependency risks in the AI ecosystem.

ShinyHunters Resumes Oracle PeopleSoft Exploitation with WAF Bypass

Google Mandiant has warned of renewed mass exploitation of Oracle PeopleSoft by the hacking group ShinyHunters (UNC6240). The target vulnerability is CVE-2026-35273, a CVSS 9.8 unauthenticated SSRF-to-RCE flaw that requires nothing more than HTTP network access to fully compromise a server.

In the initial June campaign, ShinyHunters compromised approximately 300 PeopleSoft instances and leaked data from over 100 organizations. This time, they have modified the exploit to bypass WAF rules by URL-encoding a single character in the request path.

The scope of targets has expanded beyond education into agriculture, government, healthcare, IT, and transportation organizations. Organizations running PeopleSoft 8.61 or 8.62 should apply Oracle’s emergency patch immediately.

Erad Raises $22M Series A for Saudi SME Lending

Riyadh-based fintech Erad closed a $22 million Series A led by MEVP, with participation from 500 Global, Saudi Venture Capital (SVC), S60 Ventures, and ANB Capital among others.

Erad uses data and AI to provide Shariah-compliant working capital financing of up to SAR 10 million (roughly $2.7 million) to SMEs, with average approval times of 48 hours. The company has achieved 8x year-over-year growth in Saudi Arabia, deploying over SAR 500 million ($133M) in cumulative financing.

The Series A will fund new financing products, further expansion across the GCC, and growth in capital-intensive sectors including industrial, logistics, and manufacturing.

magpie: Unified AI Agent Model Manager from the Menu Bar

magpie is an open-source tool that lets you manage every AI agent’s model from a single menu bar dropdown. It shows which model each agent on your machine is using, and changing one is a single click.

The core feature is a local gateway that speaks OpenAI Chat Completions, OpenAI Responses, and Anthropic Messages API, forwarding requests to whichever vendor serves the selected model. Sign in to Claude Code, Codex (ChatGPT), or Copilot and that authentication automatically becomes available as a provider for all other agents through the gateway.

Supported providers include Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM, MiniMax, StepFun, Qwen, and more. A snapshot feature lets you save and restore all agent settings in one move.

disktree: Rust + GPUI Disk Usage Treemap

disktree is a disk usage visualization tool built for DHH’s Omarchy desktop environment. Written in Rust using Zed editor’s GPUI framework, it renders directories as tiles proportional to actual disk usage, letting you mark files for deletion or trashing.

The tool uses memoization for incremental scanning. When expanding from a home directory to root, it reuses already-measured trees and only scans newly reached paths. The project has been trending on GitHub for three consecutive days.

Nivalis Nights Launches Today After Crossing 1 Million Steam Wishlists

Nivalis Nights, the cyberpunk life simulation from Cloudpunk studio ION LANDS, launches today on PC via Steam. First announced in 2021, the game went through multiple delays before settling on its September 29 release. It surpassed one million Steam wishlists ahead of launch.

Where Cloudpunk focused on package delivery and flying vehicles, Nivalis Nights shifts to everyday life in a dense cyberpunk city. The slower-paced life simulation approach marks a deliberate departure from the original’s more action-oriented gameplay.

PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo versions have not been announced. An Epic Games Store release is planned for later.
