Shanghai AI Lab Releases 744B Agentic Model Under MIT License

Shanghai AI Laboratory released Atria Dawn Preview, a 744B-parameter Mixture of Experts model built on GLM-5.2. The weights ship under an MIT license, removing any licensing barrier for commercial deployment.

The model targets agentic workflows: tool use, code execution, experiment runs, and failure recovery in sequence. It competed with frontier agents across 16 benchmarks and claimed top scores on five. A 143-author arXiv paper reports that roughly one-third of human participants rated their tasks infeasible without AI assistance.

A free OpenAI-compatible API is live at api.atria-asi.ai. Any team with sufficient GPU resources can deploy the model without negotiation. This adds a serious open-weight contender to the agentic model landscape.

Sony Music and Warner Chappell Sue Anthropic Over AI Training

Sony Music Publishing and Warner Chappell Music filed a federal lawsuit against Anthropic in the Northern District of California. CEO Dario Amodei and co-founder Benjamin Mann are named personally as defendants.

The 48-page complaint alleges Anthropic used tens of thousands of copyrighted songs to train Claude. Specific works cited include Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You.” The plaintiffs seek statutory damages of up to $150,000 per infringing work.

Anthropic counters that training generative AI models constitutes transformative fair use. The case joins a growing body of litigation defining the boundaries between AI training data and copyright.

Snyk Report: Two-Thirds of Enterprise AI Surface Is Invisible to Security

Snyk published State of Agentic AI Adoption Vol. II, analyzing over 3,000 enterprise accounts worldwide.

Security teams see only about one-third of their organization’s actual AI footprint. The remaining two-thirds sits outside managed security perimeters. Full-stack agentic architecture adoption doubled since January 2026, reaching 50% among organizations already using agentic AI.

The gap between AI adoption speed and security visibility keeps widening. Building reliable AI asset discovery is becoming an urgent priority for enterprise security teams.

Qualcomm and AWS Sign Multi-Generation AI Chip Deal

Qualcomm and Amazon announced a multi-generation infrastructure collaboration covering custom AI inference silicon and 1.6Tbps optical connectivity. The optical technology comes from Qualcomm’s $2.4 billion Alphawave Semi acquisition, closed in December 2025.

Qualcomm issued Amazon an equity warrant for up to 25 million shares at $161.26 each. This could unlock up to $60 billion in hardware purchases through 2036. Qualcomm stock rose over 9% on the announcement.

The deal creates a two-way relationship. Beyond supplying chips, Qualcomm is expanding its own use of AWS infrastructure and Amazon Bedrock to accelerate chip design cycles.

Netflix and Sega Announce Multi-Title Content Partnership

Netflix and Sega unveiled a multi-title collaboration spanning live-action comedy, children’s animation, and live-action drama.

The first project is a Crazy Taxi live-action film written by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, the duo behind the 2025 Naked Gun reboot. A Sonic the Hedgehog animated series and a live-action adaptation of RGG Studio’s Stranger Than Heaven are also in development.

Producers include Neal H. Moritz and Toby Ascher, the team behind the Sonic live-action film franchise, alongside Sega’s Toru Nakahara. Release dates have not been announced.

Euclyd Raises $230M for GPU-Alternative AI Inference Chips

Dutch AI chip startup Euclyd raised $230 million in a round co-led by Samsung, Somerset Capital Partners, the Scaleup Europe Fund, and Innovation Industries.

Founded in 2024, Euclyd designs AI inference processors with a fundamentally different architecture from GPUs. The company develops both the processor and memory architecture as an integrated system. Samsung’s specific investment amount was not disclosed.

The round reflects surging investment in Nvidia GPU alternatives. Dedicated inference chips optimized for production workloads are attracting growing demand as AI deployment scales.

Lasso Security Raises $30M for AI Model Protection

Tel Aviv and New York-based Lasso Security raised $30 million in a round led by ClearSky. The company specializes in securing AI models, applications, and agents.

As agentic AI proliferates across enterprises, securing deployed AI agents has emerged as a distinct and growing market. Lasso Security addresses this gap with dedicated security tooling for AI workloads.

EU Mandates 24-Hour Vulnerability Disclosure for Digital Products

The EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) reporting obligations took effect on September 11. The ENISA Single Reporting Platform (SRP) is now operational.

Manufacturers of digital products must submit an early warning within 24 hours of learning that a vulnerability is actively exploited. A full notification is due within 72 hours. The requirement applies retroactively to products already on the EU market. Open-source software stewards are also included.

ENISA Becomes CVE Root, Expanding EU Vulnerability Governance

ENISA acquired CVE Program Root status, significantly expanding its role in vulnerability identification and coordination across the EU.

As a CVE Root, ENISA now oversees CVE Numbering Authorities (CNAs) operating within the EU. This adds a European governance layer to the MITRE-centered CVE ecosystem. It is part of the EU’s broader push to strengthen cybersecurity sovereignty.

VoiceStudio: Open-Source ElevenLabs Alternative Hits 18K Stars

VoiceStudio, a fully local voice AI platform, surpassed 18,000 GitHub stars. It handles voice cloning, video dubbing, dictation, transcription, and audiobook creation across 646 languages.

The tool runs entirely without API keys, rate limits, or subscriptions. Built with a Tauri v2 (Rust) desktop shell, React + Vite UI, and FastAPI backend, it keeps all recordings, transcripts, and projects on local disk. AudioSeal watermarking is built in for synthetic speech detection.

The zero-cloud-dependency approach is the core differentiator. No data leaves the user’s machine at any point.

Nitter Survives X Corp Legal Threat, Announces Resumption

X Corp sent cease-and-desist letters to Nitter on August 24, demanding permanent removal of all instances and the project repository. The repository was archived and instances went offline.

About two weeks later, nitter.net posted: “Following legal advice, the Nitter project will continue.” Public instances including XCancel resumed operations. The specific legal reasoning was not disclosed.

Nitter is a privacy-focused proxy for viewing Twitter/X content without tracking. The case highlights ongoing tension between open-source tools and platform companies over data access.

Mac-Duo, a Swift-based macOS menu bar app, hit 877 stars on GitHub’s trending page. It applies an iPhone Duo-style visual folding effect when closing a MacBook lid.

Three visual modes are available: Duo, Soft, and Cinematic. A scrub slider lets users manually control the fold effect. The app requires macOS 14+ and a MacBook with a lid angle sensor: 14/16-inch MacBook Pro from 2021 or MacBook Air M2 and later.

Polyarc Games Shuts Down After 12 Years

Polyarc Games, developer of the Moss VR puzzle-adventure series, announced closure after nearly twelve years. Twenty-nine employees were dismissed, including co-founders Chris Alderson and Danny Bulla and CEO Tam Armstrong.

The studio’s decline traces to December 2025 when a major project lost its funding mid-development. A third-party publisher’s attempt to secure alternative financing failed. By March 2026, roughly two-thirds of the staff (about 30 people) had already been cut.

As recently as July 2026, Polyarc released Moss: The Forgotten Relic, a non-VR bundle of both Moss games. Another VR-focused studio closing underscores the ongoing challenges in the VR market.

Fallout 76 Launches Native PS5 and Xbox Series Version

Bethesda released native PS5 and Xbox Series versions of Fallout 76 on September 15, alongside Season 26: Beware the Blood Moon.

The update delivers native 60fps support with VRR. PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X run at 4K resolution, while the standard PS5 reaches up to 1440p. Existing digital owners receive a free upgrade. New copies are priced at EUR 39.99.

Eight years after its original launch, the game finally receives a current-gen optimized build with across-the-board improvements in performance, stability, and visual quality.

The Blood of Dawnwalker: CD Projekt Red Veterans’ Vampire RPG Launches

Rebel Wolves’ The Blood of Dawnwalker launched on September 3 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The studio is led by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, former director of The Witcher 3.

The open-world dark fantasy RPG is set in 14th-century Europe. Players control Coen, human by day and vampire by night, with player choices shaping the story. Bandai Namco publishes the title.

Key CD Projekt Red veterans on the team include writer Jakub Szamalek, art director Bartlomiej Gawel, and animation director Tamara Zawada.
